General Candy, who's overseeing an English group in 1943, is a pioneer who doesn't always have the admiration and can be deemed out of touch with what's needed to win against the war. However, it was not always this method. Flashing back to his early career in the Boer War and World War I, a young officer whose entire life has been shaped by three women, and by way of a friendship with a German soldier is seen by us.
