All the Mornings of the World
It 17th century. The viola da gamba player Monsieur de Sainte Colombe comes back home to find his wife died while he was off. In his despair he assembles a small house in his own garden to wich he proceeds to dedicate his entire life to his two young girls and music Madeleine and Toinette. Rumor about him and his music is equally widespread, as well as reaches the court of Louis XIV, that would like him however Monsieur de Sainte Colombe refuses. A young man, Marin Marais, concerns see him with a petition, he would like to be taught just how to play the violin.
