Endgame
The time is the late'80s, a critical period in South Africa's history. President P.W. Botha is hanging on to power by a ribbon while the African National Congress (ANC) occupies arms against apartheid and the united states tumbles toward insurrection. A mining concern is convinced that their interests would be better served in a southafrica that is stable and they quietly dispatch Michael Young, their thoughts of public affairsto start an dialogue between the enemies. Assembling a averse yet dazzling team by confronting obstacles that initially appear insurmountable, to pave the way to understanding, Young places his hope from Afrikaner doctrine professor Willie Esterhuyse and ANC leader Thabo Mbeki. It is their compassion that may eventually act by simply proving more powerful than the bombs that threaten to interrupt the peaceful dialogue.
