Shimura Teppei (Fujigaya Taisuke) grew up watching his policeman father who'd ride sidebyside marathons because he was a motorcycle cop, and dreamt of being a marathon runner as a kid. However, Teppei's father disappeared lost his job. Teppei ruined himself by becoming a drunk that was well known in the space. Under the influence of his childhood friend, after graduating from high school Yuichi, Teppei decided to become policeman. He passed the recruiting test and entered the police academy.
