Umberto D.
When older pensioner Umberto Domenico Ferrari returns to his dressing house out of a protest calling for a rise in suburban pensions, so his landlady requires her rent by the end of the month or he along with his small dog is going to be flipped out onto the street. Unable to get the amount over time, Umberto fakes illness to receive delivered to a hospital, giving his dog to the landlady maid to get temporary safe keeping.
