The Second Mother
Val spends another 13 years working as a nanny at São Paulo, after leaving her daughter Jessica to be increased by relatives. She has financial stability but has to live with the guilt of having not increased Jessica herself. Since the university entrance exams approach of Fabinho, Jessica reappears in her life and seems to wish to give her mother a chance. However Jessica will not be increased for a slave and Val's regular will be turned by also her very presence . With humour and precision, her eye turns on the forces that keep rigid class arrangements and the youth may be the ones to shake up it.
