The Blockhouse
When the Allies land in Normandy on D-Day, a group of Slave labourers, forced by the Nazis to help build their coastal defenses in 1944, are trapped in a subterranean bunker. They discover massive stocks of food but insufficient candles. During their captivity, the gradual dimming of the light corresponds to their growing boredom, illness, and jealousy. Adapted from Jean Paul Clebert's novel "Le Blockhaus."
