Time of the Wolves
The criminal (Robert Hossein), who is modeled after American gangster John Dillinger, is pursued by the inspector (Charles Aznavour), an old childhood friend. The killer is caught through a combination of gunplay and psychology. Stella, his lover, is his only source of tenderness (Virna Lisi). During the shootout, Dillinger is besieged by the police and kills several innocent people in the crowd. When the condemned man runs out of ammunition, the crowd decides to take matters into their own hands and approaches him with a noose.
