The show uses"mockumentary" ways to portray the literary, reality television-style adventures of passionate expert critic Forrest MacNeil, who hosts a TV series called"Inspection" where he participates in virtually any life experience his viewers ask him to learn whether this life experience"isn't any good". Subsequently, Forrest formally rates each life experience in-studio. But, Forrest's compulsive curiosity and uncompromising commitment to the series unexpectedly backfire in ways that progressively ruin his life as he is asked to review'stealing','drug dependence ','being a savage ','getting divorced','getting revenge', and'running from law.
